As the CERITA project approaches its conclusion, team members and partners have taken the opportunity to reflect on key moments from the past year of collaboration. One of the highlights was the mid-term experience exchange in Tartu, Estonia, which took place during the summer and included a site visit to the Aardlapalu waste transfer station.
This facility, which transitioned from a landfill into a modern waste management hub featuring a landfill gas collection system, showcased the progress Tartu has made toward sustainable waste practices. The visit offered valuable insights into how regional infrastructure can evolve to support circular economy goals.
During the meeting, partners shared updates on local developments. Tartu’s representatives presented the city’s progress within CERITA, highlighting initiatives related to circular waste strategies and renewable energy integration.
